About

Hola!  My name is Adam McConnaughhay.  I first came to Colombia as a volunteer teacher in 2011, and well, like Colombia’s travel pitch says, the only risk is wanting to stay.  I’ve since come to meet and marry my beautiful wife Susana and learn to call Cartagena my home.  I started Cartagena Explorer as an outlet for writing and sharing my experiences in Cartagena and Colombia and hopefully serve as a useful resource to travelers and residents alike in the process (and perhaps even earn a few extra pesos on the side along the way).  If you would like to learn more about me and my background check out my About the Author page.  If you have any issues, comments, suggestions, or requests for content on the site please don’t hesitate to contact me.
